Board Members
Matt McCauley
President
Matt currently works for Comstock Resources, Inc as a Landman. He is one of three brothers of our namesake, Adam McCauley. Matt is passionate about helping other families after witnessing first-hand what Adam’s widow and children endured. He attended Texas Tech University and graduated from the Rawls College of Business. Matt has worked in the Oil and Gas Industry for almost twenty years. He is a member of the Dallas Association of Petroleum Landman (DAPL) and the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL). He resides in Plano, Texas with his two daughters.
Alex Kuiper
Vice President
Alex is the Managing Partner of Kuiper Law Firm and one of the founders of our Foundation, after losing his dear friend Adam and seeing the need to help others in the McCauley family’s situation. After serving honorably in the United States Marine Corps, Alex earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Texas. He then earned his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in Houston. He is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is also admitted in North Dakota, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Wyoming. His legal practice primarily focuses on oil and gas law, employment law, and bankruptcy law, with locations in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Midland, and Oklahoma City. He resides in Houston with his wife and their three daughters.
Mark Cuda
Treasurer
Mark serves on our board as Treasurer. He retired in 2018 after thirty-two years in a successful sales career. He primarily worked as an Architectural Solutions Consultant with Steelcase, the nation’s leading commercial furniture manufacturer. In addition to graciously giving his time to our board, he also volunteers with Hometown Missions, his local church, and international mission trips as a means of giving back to others. When not volunteering, he enjoys golf, tennis, pickle ball, college football, traveling with his wife, and visiting their seven grandchildren.
Madison Ficken
Executive Secretary
Madison Ficken is the Executive Secretary of The Adam McCauley Family Cancer Foundation. She is dedicated to helping children and families in need and passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of those she serves. Madison has an extensive background in hospitality and events and has been in the oil and gas industry for the past 5 years. Her background assisted her in coordinating the first three Adam McCauley Golf Classics, an event that has become a popular annual fundraiser in the oil and gas community. She has a deep commitment to making a lasting impact in her community and is especially passionate about ensuring that all children have access to the resources they need to be successful. Originally from Katy, Texas, Madison earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Marketing from Brigham Young University in Laie, Hawaii before coming back to her Texas roots in 2014.
Amy Williams
Director
Amy joined the Adam McCauley Family Cancer Foundation team with a background in mental health. She attended Denver Seminary, where she earned her Master's in Clinical Mental Health, then earned her Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado. She worked for over 8 years at Children’s Hospital Colorado, serving children, adolescents, and their families with individual, group, and family therapy. Additionally, she served in a crisis intervention role, working in the Psychiatric Emergency Room and medical floors completing psychiatric evaluations. She grew up in the Houston-area and attended Baylor University for her Bachelor's of Arts in Religion and English. She enjoys using her therapeutic skills to walk alongside the Foundation's families during a difficult time.
Lori Ferguson
General Counsel
Lori generously gives her time as General Counsel for our Foundation. She is a Partner and General Counsel at Kuiper Law Firm in Houston. She has over ten years as an experienced civil litigator focused on contractual disputes and negotiation, in addition to five years of title practice, and is admitted in Texas, Mississippi, Montana, and the U.S. Federal District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University in New Orleans in 2009, followed by her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in Houston in 2013. She continues to call Houston her home with her husband, Caleb, and their French bulldog, Meryl, and enjoys cooking, travelling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
